The higher education institutions constituting the Lapland University Consortium produce their support
services mainly together. The institutions share e.g. the Library and
the Language Centre. As of August 1, 2011, the institutions will have a joint support service centre.
They have also established two institutes that aim to spearhead
expertise in their fields in Lapland: the Lapland Institute for Tourism
Education in Rovaniemi and the Institute for Northern Culture in Tornio
uniquely combine and implement three educational levels and co-operation
Through this co-operation, these higher education institutions are able
to develop the quality and the efficiency of their services.
